The Maison du Père has been an active presence among the homeless since 1969. More than just a shelter for eating and sleeping, it offers willing men the help they need to get off the street as well as temporary assistance to prevent them from finding themselves back on the street, including shelter, housing for homeless seniors, a social reintegration program, community health care services, housing support, etc. The Maison du Père offers 488 long-term or temporary housing solutions, because every street should have an exit. The Maison du Père Foundation was established in 2004 to promote, develop and ensure the viability of the Maison du Père’s activities.

The Maison du Père's annual operating budget is over $6,500,000. Because more than half of its income comes through donations, the Foundation's team spends a great deal of energy maintaining donor loyalty, establishing new alliances and creating events to raise the funds necessary to achieve its mission.

The Maison du Père Foundation understands the importance of maintaining the trust of its donors and public and private sector partners; it therefore takes all measures necessary to keep its donors’ personal information confidential and ensure its social networks are safe to visit.
