The goal of Maison du Père’s social reintegration program is to provide transitional housing and support to men ages 25 and older who face various challenges, including mental health and addiction.
During their stay, these men can consolidate their assets and adopt a healthy lifestyle on many levels.

How it works
The social reintegration program offers housing and support that can last from 1 to 18 months. Participants are first admitted to the Intake and Integration service, which contains 30 beds in open-plan units. After a three-month stay, they may move on to the Transition service, which comprises 31 renovated private rooms.
The social reintegration program helps men who are experiencing temporary difficulties (marital problems, job loss, burnout, etc.) find their way off the street as quickly as possible. However, most of them are grappling with addiction and/or physical or mental health issues, which they must work to overcome.
The intervention philosophy of the social reintegration service is based on a harm reduction approach. Participants must, however, adhere to the intervention plan they have established with their front-line staff member by remaining active and motivated to embark on the process of change.
They have curfews to abide by and a charter of rights and responsibilities. The costs for this program are based on income and include three meals a day, clothing service, support from a team of front-line staff members and on-site consultation with health professionals. They also have access to support services related to employability, education and court appearances.
Eight private rooms are reserved at an affordable price for men in this age range. Some of these men may someday re-enter the job market, but they do not focus on that objective at first. Participants are invited to strengthen their social skills so they can regain their place in the community and improve their self-confidence.
Volunteer work is strongly encouraged because it can be a very enriching experience for these men on personal, social and professional levels.
For these two programs, participants must use the trust service and create a budget.
